General News

Back from Break
We hope everyone had an enjoyable, restful, and safe Thanksgiving Break this past week! Students are scheduled to return to school on Monday, November 30th. We're looking forward to seeing our students again, whether they're in-person or virtual!

Weekly Update from CCSD
Please click here to read the Weekly Update from CCSD, which was posted and sent out on Friday, November 20th. Below is a graphic from their newsletter explaining how schools will work to mitigate and respond to Covid-19 incidents:

Safety Reminders for Face-to-Face Students
While we're all working on building new habits and routines during our face-to-face return, there are a few safety-related rules and expectations that we must follow. Families of face-to-face students, please remind and discuss with your child the importance of wearing their mask correctly (above the nose) and social distancing as much as possible. We are all in this together and want to make sure we are protecting each other!

Class Schedules
Thank you for everyone's patience as we adjusted to a new class schedule this week! As a reminder, here is our updated schedule, which is the same for both virtual and face-to-face students. Please contact your child's teachers if you have any questions or concerns about their schedule!

First Week Back!
Students who chose the face-to-face learning option were back this week, and although some details are still being worked out, it was great to be back with students! Teachers are working incredibly hard to navigate the technological and logistical challenges that come with teaching both face-to-face and virtual students simultaneously, but we're getting there. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation, understanding, and support!

General News

Students Return Face-to-Face This Week!
K-8 students will begin in-person instruction starting Monday November 9th, with families also having the option to remain virtual. Below are a few helpful links to check out with regards to our reopening:

- CCSD Weekly Update - posted 11/6
- CCSD Reopening Info tab (contains all documents and updates from the school district)

Asynchronous Work Day for Virtual Students on Monday 11/9
There will be no Zoom classes for virtual students on Monday -- instead, teachers will post asynchronous assignments on Google Classroom for students to work on independently. This is because much of Monday will be spent going over new rules and procedures with our face-to-face students as we get used to returning to the building.

New Schedule
Now that some students are returning to the building, the class schedule is changing to reflect a more typical school day. The biggest changes are that students will now have an ELT class and an extra Connections class as well. Please see below for the updated daily schedule:

Students should now be able to see their new schedules in Infinite Campus, and they will also receive an email from Mr. Hussain this weekend with their new schedule (including Zoom links for our virtual learners). Finally, in-person students will get a printed copy of their new schedule on Monday in homeroom.

Bus Information
Here is the link for families to determine bus transportation for face-to-face students!

Uniforms Not Required, but Mask Up!
Uniforms are optional for students returning in person. Students who choose not to wear uniforms must still follow the CCSD Dress Code, which can be found in the Hilsman Town Hall Slideshow from earlier this week.

All in-person students are required and expected to wear masks. In homeroom on Monday, all students will receive 2 reusable masks, a laptop bag, a reusable water bottle, an agenda, and a student code of conduct. Teachers will also have disposable face masks for students who may forget or not have masks.

Quarter 2 Starts Monday
Monday also marks the end of the 1st quarter and the beginning of the 2nd quarter this school year! Teachers will be posting final grades for Q1 on Monday, and Q1 Report Cards will be distributed and/or mailed home in the days following.
