8th Grade News: October 22-25, 2018

General News
Conference Feedback
Thank you so much to all of the families who made it out for conferences this past week! We had an excellent turnout, and it was great to have the opportunity to meet with families and discuss their child's glows and grows. (Special shout out to the PTO for the amazing dinner they provided for teachers!)

Field Day
We will be having an 8th grade Field Day this Tuesday, October 23rd. Students may dress down in field day attire (t-shirt, gym shorts, etc.), but the CCSD dress code policy will still be in effect. Field Day will last the entire day and students will be competing with their 5th period classes in various team events such as kickball, flag football, cornhole, ladder ball, horseshoes, and more!

High School Class Resources
We would like to offer some resources for students currently in high school classes (Spanish I, High School Physical Science, and Accelerated Math). Georgia Virtual Schools has a sister site that is free, and the modules teach the standards that are consistent with the classes offered. Click here for more information on the procedures for how to use the site. We definitely encourage these students to use this resource at home!

Fall Break
Don't forget that there will be no school this Friday, October 26th for fall break. We hope everyone has an enjoyable, restful three-day weekend. (Go Dawgs!)

Family Education Series
We will be having the next night of our family education series this Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00-7:30pm in the cafeteria. Meals (chili and various soups) and childcare will be provided. The planned topic will be on encouraging positive behaviors. We hope to see you there!
