Get Active, Stay Healthy Challenge!
Don't let Zoom fatigue and no middle school fall sports get in the way of feeling your best! The Hilsman Get Active, Stay Healthy Challenge is launching soon! If you are interested in completing daily and weekly self-care challenges to encourage a healthy mind and body throughout the school year, please join our Google Classroom using the code wbxmzyu. Friday Support Info
Classes do not meet on Fridays, but teachers are still be available at their usual Zoom links for additional support and tutoring, and teachers will also be assigning work for students to complete on their own. For specific times on when teachers are available, see below:

How Can I Stay Updated?
  1. Check your email. Hilsman will use Campus Messenger to email parents/guardians all school-wide announcements. Follow these directions to sign up: 
  2. Sign up for the Hilsman PTO page for more frequent updates. Search Facebook for "Hilsman Middle School PTO, Athens GA"
  3. Check Google Classroom for class announcements.
Google Classroom
This will be your child's "home base!" All materials and assignments will be posted to Google Classroom, which is our school-wide platform. Assignments, instructions, calendars, emails, and Zoom links will be posted in each student's Google Classroom account. Students must check Google Classroom every day!

Monday: Transformations Quiz
Tuesday: Translations in the coordinate plane
Wednesday: Translations in the coordinate plane
Thursday: Reflections in the coordinate plane

**We will take a quiz on Monday over what we've been learning about in class so far this year. Students have a study guide in Google Classroom that they can complete in order to prepare. Students who finish and turn in the study guide will earn bonus points on the quiz!

**Students have a Unit 1 Pictionary Assignment that is due on October 9th. This will count as a major project grade. The assignment is posted in Google Classroom - students should be working on it outside of class, especially on Fridays when we're not meeting as a whole class!

**Students will participate in a mock election sponsored by Youth Vote Georgia on October 6th
- Inform students of mock election on Monday
- Plan to incorporate civic engagement and the voting process for a small portion of daily lessons
- Homework assignment for Friday, October 2nd that prompts students to explore candidates, platforms, and issues for themselves
