General News
8th Grade Parent Meeting
The administration and 8th grade teachers would like to invite all families to our 8th grade parent meeting on Wednesday, January 16th from 6:00-7:00pm in the cafeteria. The spring semester of 8th grade is a crucial time as we aim to prepare our students for a smooth, successful transition to high school, and we would like to use this meeting as a chance to talk with families about all of the important opportunities, activities, and experiences for students that we have planned from now until the end of the school year. A letter will be sent home with students on Monday with more information. We hope to see you there!

Report Cards
Report cards were sent home Thursday, January 10th. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades or academic standing, please contact their teacher(s). A full contact list for the 8th grade faculty is listed at the bottom of the blog.

Please make sure the college is visible on the shirt, as solid colors are not permitted. Students who do not wish to participate must wear regular uniforms. Our staff will be decked out with shirts from our colleges and we hope students will join us!

Binder Check Updates
Binder Checks are continuing for the rest of the year. However, beginning this quarter, rather than simply checking for basic school supplies, each teacher will now be checking for materials specific to that specific content area in order to ensure that students are not only bringing their binders and necessary supplies, but are now also keeping up with their notes and assignments for all of their classes. As usual, students who earn enough points by the end of each month will continue to earn a dress down day! If you are in need of supplies for your child or would like to donate supplies, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Black History Month Program
The Hilsman Black History Month presentation will take place on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00-7:00pm. Any students interested in performing, participating, or assisting with the presentation, please see Mr. Blake or Ms. Page!
